Former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique has resigned from his primary membership of the Indian National Congress breaking 48 long years of association. Siddique, a former legislator from Bandra (west), is the second big face to quit the grand-old party before the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls. In January, Milind Deora exited from the party to join Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Baba Siddique, who is also known for his glamourous Iftar parties, in a tweet announced that he was resigning from Congress. He wrote, "I joined the Indian National Congress party as a young teenager and it has been a significant journey lasting 48 years. Today I resign from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress Party with immediate effect."
