Nature lovers demand strict action after several holes found drilled into it; BMC lodges police complaint, says chemical injected into it

Environmental activists and nature lovers have demanded strict action against those responsible, after a tree was found to have been drilled with several holes to kill it, at Bandra West. A non-cognisable (NC) offence has been registered against the owner of a nearby plot where the tree is located.
On Sunday evening a video was posted on the Instagram page of Bandra Buzz, saying, “Miscreants drilled 26 holes into the base of this tree and poisoned it on the pavement at 1st Road, Almeida Park, opp. the Aashiyana building, Bandra (West), leaving it to die a slow death.” The page requested local political leaders and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials to take action. BMC H west ward officials promised action on social media.
