Mumbai witnessed sudden rains/ Ashish Rane
Mumbai`s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) faced a significant disruption today as both runways faced closure due to a sudden spell of rain. The unexpected downpour led to Mumbai airport`s runway closure, paralysed air travel, inconvenienced passengers and disrupted schedules across the board.
"The sudden closure of the runways, a rare occurrence even during the monsoon season, caught all of us off guard. The heavy rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds, rendered the runways unsuitable for landing and takeoff, posing potential safety risks for aircraft." said sources from DGCA.
