An air-conditioned Utkrisht-class rail coach has been positioned on a newly laid set of small rail tracks opposite the main entry of Kurla LTT station. It will be transformed into a restaurant on wheels, following the model of the one at Mumbai CSMT.
While the restaurant at Mumbai CSMT will soon be closed and relocated for the station’s extensive redevelopment, Central Railway (CR) has identified other stations along the line for similar dining experiences. It is possible that the restaurant-on-wheels at Mumbai CSMT will be reopened at a new site. The restaurant-on-wheels concept involves modifying a rail coach mounted on tracks to create a fine-dining establishment that offers a unique experience to diners. The coach can accommodate over 40 patrons with tables set up inside. The interior of the restaurant is carefully designed to create a theme-based ambience, enhancing the dining experience.
