Ticket checking drive conducted by Western Railway at Dadar station
The day-long ticket checking drive conducted by Western Railway at Dadar station last week may be a world record, claim officials. By the day`s end, the exhaustive ticket-checking operation had identified a staggering 1,647 cases of ticketless travel, resulting in a substantial recovery of Rs 4,21,960.
“Like a tsunami, 195 ticket-checking staff descended at Dadar station (Western Railway) in the morning of September 30 and the intensive check went on during the entire day and sent shock waves amongst ticketless travellers, so much so that even the m-indicator suburban app was buzzing with alerts for commuters to buy tickets at Dadar, else there was big trouble waiting for them!” a senior official said.
