In a hit-and-run accident involving a dump truck in Kandivali East on Sunday evening, a 36-year-old two-wheeler rider lost his life and his wife sustained severe injuries. Swati Kamble, 34, an employee of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), was travelling with her husband, Mangesh when the unidentified dump truck driver hit their bike while attempting to overtake from the left side.
Kamble, currently admitted to Shatabdi Hospital said, “My husband and I, had left on the motorcycle heading towards Vile Parle at 11 am to visit a beauty parlour on Sunday morning. “At 4 pm, after completing our shopping, we decided to return home. As we reached the New Kalpataru building near the Kandivali West-East flyover, the speeding dump truck attempted to overtake us from the left. In the process the truck collided with our bike,” she added.
