The counselling programme started by Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) is gaining traction as both home buyers and developers are regularly seeking help from the authority. When the counselling program was initiated in February 2023 by the MahaRERA at its headoffice in BKC, there were about 100-150 help seekers per month, including homebuyers and developers. Now it is aiding about 300-350 visitors per month.
"The counselling system is designed to provide guidance on issues such as delayed possession, discrepancies in housing quality and project completion challenges. Situated on the fourth floor of MahaRERA`s BKC headquarters, two senior officers with in-depth knowledge of laws and process concerning building development are available during office hours to offer assistance," said an official spokesperson from MahaRERA.
