India and France are making progress in discussions related to establishing a financing mechanism and a localization component for the 9,900 MWe Jaitapur nuclear power plant in Maharashtra`s Ratnagiri district.
Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra confirmed that the French power company EDF and the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) are actively engaged in addressing issues such as financing and localizing aspects of the Jaitapur project, newswire PTI reported.
