France is using the language of its historic rival, the UK, to attract Indian students. Some French institutes will now teach courses in English to them. The country has a target of getting 20,000 Indian students in France by 2025.

“The courses will be taught in English to Indian students. They do not need to learn French. All the selected 20,000 students that go from here will have English as a medium of teaching. France is now opening up, and is among the countries in Europe where the number of students being taught in English has been on the rise over the years,” an Institut Français spokesperson said.
