There is good news for commuters facing traffic near the domestic airport on the southbound end of the Western Express Highway (WEH) as the new 700-metre-long flyover, adjacent to the existing one, is nearing completion and set to open in the third week of February.
“The project of T1 on the WEH flyover near the domestic airport is almost complete except for some miscellaneous work,” a Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) official said. The construction of the flyover project started in June 2021 at a cost of Rs 48.43 crore (provisional). “The flyover will be ready to open by February 15, 2024,” the official added.
