On Monday, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/jalna-lathicharge-incident-government-is-shameless-says-uddhav-thackeray-23307262" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra</a> reported 14 new <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/covid-19/" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Covid-19</a> cases and zero deaths, as per the state govt`s health bulletin.
According to the data shared by the maharashtra govt, nine patients discharged on September 4 taking the total tally of recovered patients to 80,22,091 till date.
The recovery rate in the state is 98.18 per cent and the case fatality rate in the state is 1.81 per cent.
"Out of 8,74,89,075 laboratory samples 81,70,848 have been tested positive (9.34 per cent) for Covid-19 until today," the state government official said.
Presently Maharashtra has 200 active Covid-19 cases.
At present dominant variant of Covid is Omicron XBB.1.16. Total 1733 cases were found to be infected with this variant. There were 19 deaths reported among the cases of this variant. The health bulletin also stated that since January 1,&nbsp; 2023, 127 Covid-19 deaths have been recorded. 72.44 per cent of these deaths have occurred in individuals above 60 years of age, 84 per cent of the deceased had comorbidities, 16 per cent did not have any comorbidity.
Meanwhile, India recorded a single-day rise of 46 new Covid-19 cases. The death toll was recorded at 5,32,023 (5.32 lakh), the data updated at 8 am on Monday showed.
The India`s Covid case tally is at 4,49,97,372 (4.49 crore). The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has risen to 4,44,64,858 (4.44 crore) while the national recovery rate stands at 98.81 per cent.
The case fatality rate currently stands at 1.18 per cent.
According to the ministry website, 220.67 crore Covid vaccine doses have been administered in India.
Further, according to PTI an observational study has been published recently in the journal PLOS One which stated that there is no association between the Covid-19 vaccines used in India -- Covishield and Covaxin -- and increase in the risk of heart attacks. The observational study emphasises the protective effect of the jabs.
The research determined the impact of Covid-19 vaccination on mortality following acute myocardial infarction (AMI) or heart attack.
