A day after registering the lowest number of single-day Covid-19 deaths, the city saw a rise in fatalities as well as fresh cases on Wednesday. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 788 new cases and 27 deaths were recorded across Mumbai.
After recording the lowest daily Covid-19 numbers in the second wave on June 3, Mumbai saw a rise in cases earlier last week but the numbers remained below the 1,000 mark. There was a marginal rise in the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) compared to Tuesday but it remained below 3 per cent. The TPR on Wednesday was 2.70 per cent. On June 6, for the first time, the TPR dropped below 3 per cent.
