City’s TPR at 1.37 per cent; Maharashtra records 6,753 Covid cases and 167 deaths

After registering over 400 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, the city saw a marginal drop for the second consecutive day on Friday with 374 new cases and single-digit fatalities. The city’s test positivity rate (TPR) saw a marginal rise and was 1.37 per cent. The city reported the second wave’s lowest TPR on July 16 at 1.26 per cent. After registering a TPR above 2 per cent last on June 27, the city had stayed within the limit. The doubling rate improved and was 1,209 days on Friday.
Of the eight deaths, two patients had comorbidities, five were in the age group of 60 years and above and three were in the 40-60 years age group. On June 8 and July 7, the city had reported single-digit Covid-19 fatalities in the second wave. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 482 people recovered and were discharged on Friday.
