After registering less than 400 fresh Covid-19 infections on Tuesday for the first time in the second wave, the city saw a significant rise in infections and Covid-19 fatalities on Wednesday. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 430 new cases and 13 deaths were reported across the city on Wednesday.
Mumbai’s test positivity rate (TPR) saw a marginal drop and was 1.48 per cent on Wednesday. The city reported the second wave’s lowest TPR on July 16 at 1.26 per cent. After registering a TPR of above 2 per cent on June 27, it has been less than that since then.
