An unknown caller purportedly calling from Pakistan allegedly threatened to kidnap and murder the bank`s chairman and also blow up its office if a loan of Rs 10 lakh was not sanctioned to him. The man identified himself as M D Ziya Ul Ali, however, the SBI has denied anyone by this name has applied for a loan, said police.
According to the police officials, the corporate office of the bank at Madam Cama road, Nariman Point received the first call on Wednesday at 11 am, the caller demanded to speak to a personal assistant of Khara and when got connected, he threatened to kidnap and murder Khara and also to blow up their corporate office if a loan of Rs 10 lakh was not provided to him.
