Several airports across India faced bomb threats on Tuesday, leading to heightened security measures and flight delays. “In the morning, a Dubai-bound flight scheduled to depart from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) received a bomb threat via email. Preliminary investigations revealed that the same threat was emailed to 40 airports across India at approximately 12.40 pm,” said an official from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) headquarters.
“In Coimbatore, a bomb threat was received, but flight services were unaffected. A bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) team, along with a sniffer dog squad from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), conducted a thorough search and declared the threat a hoax,” he added.
