Environmentalist writes to institute authority asking about the situation, demands that plants be revived and new ones be planted as compensation

A dried up tree inside the IIT-Bombay campus
Is someone trying to kill the trees inside IIT-Bombay Campus? A number of nature lovers have raised this question as it has been observed that at one location inside the campus, the trees are drying up. Taking a serious note of this, environmentalist Stalin D from NGO Vanashakti has written a letter to the IIT-Bombay authorities, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and the Environment Secretary on Wednesday.
“We have observed that there are various trees at this one particular site at IIT-Bombay campus which are drying. The site appears to have been dumped with a lot of debris, and some of the huge trees on the site are dead and some are drying up. We only hope it is not an attempt to clear the land for construction of buildings, and we request you to remove the debris, revive the trees and plant new ones as compensation for the dead ones,” read the letter.
