In a tragic incident that unfolded on Thursday night in Mumbai`s Borivali area, where a woman undergoing treatment for mental illness killed her daughter. The woman strangled her 11-year-old daughter to death using a dupatta. She then attempted to take her own life by slitting her wrist with a knife, in their rented accommodation, police sources said. 

However, the mother is alive and under treatment at the hospital.
