Global Hospital, Parel, Mumbai, recently launched its new robot-assisted heart surgery program, aimed at reducing recovery time and complications for patients who require delicate heart surgeries. The program is led by Dr Chandrashekhar Kulkarni, senior consultant CVTS and lead heart transplant surgeon at Global Hospital, Parel, who has extensive experience in performing minimally invasive cardiac surgeries.
According to Dr Chandrashekhar Kulkarni, a Senior Consultant CVTS and lead Heart Transplant Surgeon at The Global Hospital, Parel, the hospital`s robot-assisted heart surgery program is equipped with the latest Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system. This technology allows surgeons to perform complex heart procedures with greater precision and accuracy than traditional open-heart surgeries. Patients benefit from smaller incisions, less blood loss, and faster recovery times. Robotic surgeries are also less invasive and have been shown to result in fewer complications and less pain for patients. Furthermore, the use of robotic technology helps to reduce infection risk and shorten hospital stays.
