Ishwak says shooting for horror thriller Adhura made him confront his fear of the paranormal

Like most of us, Ishwak Singh, in his childhood, enjoyed listening to ghost stories and grew up on a steady diet of them. One would then think that Adhura, his upcoming horror offering with Rasika Dugal, was an enjoyable experience for him. The actor, however, says that above all, the Amazon Prime Video series has been “therapeutic” as it helped him face his deep-seated fears. He recounts, “I used to be a timid kid, but was fascinated by ghost stories. I remember sitting with my grandmother and listening to folklore. But then, I had two experiences that shook me up. The first was when I [thought I] saw an apparition, and the second time, I heard a whisper. These couldn’t have been a figment of my imagination. The only way I could deal with them was by trying to convince myself that they weren’t real. After that, I stopped watching horror movies.”
