As he essays a sanskari beta in Ishk Par Zor Nahi, Param Singh on playing a character with dramatically different ideals from his own

From the desi goon in Ghulaam to playing a scientist in Haiwaan, Param Singh’s roles have been anything but predictable. Up next, the actor is taking a stab at essaying the role of a sanskari beta in Ishk Par Zor Nahi. “After wrapping up Haiwaan in February 2020, I wanted to take a month-long break and start again, but the lockdown [disrupted my plans]. In July, I received a call from 4 Lion Films for another show, but they changed their mind and made another offer,” recounts the actor, who was finally roped in for the family drama in July.
The recently launched daily soap revolves around Ishqi and Ahaan, played by Akshita Mudgal and him respectively, who harbour dramatically different ideas of marriage. “My character wants someone who can take care of his family and is not career-minded. I personally don’t share [my character’s views] as all I want is love and respect in a relationship. But there are people with such beliefs, and I don’t judge their choice,” he explains, adding that the show studies love and marriage through the lens of his on-screen family.
