After over 100 days in the Bigg Boss 17 house, Munawar Faruqui beat all the contestants who stayed in the house to lift the trophy on Sunday which coincided with his birthday. Munawar, who started with a fan following of 6.1 million on Instagram and currently has 11.3 million, took home the trophy along with a whopping amount of over Rs 50 lakh and a Hyundai Creta car. Having spent 105 days inside the house, touted as one of the most difficult places to be in, Munawar maintained the position alongside the other four top contenders Ankita Lokhande, Mannara Chopra, Abhishek Kumar and Arun Mahshetty.
Munawar Faruqui got the most votes as he was announced as the winner by host Salman Khan. Abhishek Kumar took the runner-up spot. On Monday evening, a massive crowd gathered on the streets of Mumbai`s Dongri area where Munawar resides for his grand welcome. Several banners and posters were put across the area congratulating Munawar for winning the reality show. Lovingly called `Dongri Ka Chokra`, Munawar paraded on the streets of his area flaunting his trophy. People crowded on the footpaths while some got over rooftops of shops to catch a glimpse of Munawar.
