The actress, who became a household name with Kumkum, plays the Hindu deity (played by Kartikey Malviye)&rsquo;s mother, Sangya on the show.
Former cricketer and actor Salil Ankola (in pic) plays her husband, lord Surya.
An excited Juhi says, &ldquo;Shani is my first historical-mytho series and the strong narrative makes me feel privileged to be a part of this team. It is a show that will change the perception of many people about folklore surrounding the deity. My character is intriguing because there are multiple layers to the personality.&rdquo;
Ankola says the show answers one of Hindu society&rsquo;s biggest questions: Why lord Shani is associated with negative occurrences. &ldquo;This is a concept that has not been explored on television before,&rdquo; he adds.
