Vijay Deverakonda in Arjun Reddy
Sandeep Reddy Vanga is a filmmaker who has been making headlines ever since the release of his film `Animal` starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. Before `Animal;, the filmmaker had made noise for his debut film `Arjun Reddy` and its Hindi remake, `Kabir Singh`. His debut film `Arjun Reddy` had Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. With the success of `Arjun Reddy`, Vijay shot to fame and earned a name across the country. However, turns out Vijay was not the director`s first choice for the film.
In an interview recently, Vanga revealed that he had narrated a story to Allu Arjun in 2011. However, the film never went on floors. He later wanted to approach Allu Arjun for `Arjun Reddy` but never got the chance. “I couldn’t get to him and meet him again. The script went to multiple producers and actors after that. Finally, I decided to produce it myself. A friend introduced me to Vijay, and we started shooting a couple of weeks later. So yes, I wanted Allu Arjun in my debut film," said Sandeep talking to India Today.
