Ilaiyaraaja's daughter Bhavatharini passes away at 47 in Sri Lanka

Ilaiyaraaja`s daughter Bhavatharini was reportedly battling cancer and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Sri Lanka

National Award-winning playback singer and daughter of legendary music director Ilaiyaraaja, singer Bhavatharini passed away on January 25. According to reports, she was battling cancer. The singer was in Sri Lanka for the treatment of liver cancer and took her last breath on January 25 at 5 pm in the country. Her mortal remains will be brought back to India today. Bhavatharini was 47 years old.
Ilaiyaraaja`s daughter Bhavatharini was also the sister of Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja. She won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the Tamil song, `Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu` from `Bharathi`. She was reportedly suffering from liver cancer from the past six months. Recently, she went to Sri Lanka for further treatment. She succumbed to the illness on Thursday at a private hospital in Sri Lanka.
