The singer had to postpone her concert due to a fan dying shortly before her show on Friday. The decision was announced as thousands of fans were already at the stadium.
Brazil is currently in the middle of an unprecedented heatwave, which has set off massive health alerts. The authorities had advised civilians to stay in and stay hydrated as the heatwave posed a danger to life. The recorded heat index, which combines temperature with humidity, was 59.3C (138.7F) on Friday, followed by 59.7C (139.5) on Saturday.
