London: Oscar-winning filmmaker Cameron Crowe has offered "heartfelt" apology for casting actress Emma Stone as a mixed race character in his latest film "Aloha".

Crowe was panned by diversity campaigners for casting a white actress as a part-Asian Hawaiian in the movie, which also stars Bradley Cooper, reported CNN.
