The latest instalments of popular franchises like 'The Avengers', 'The Fast and The Furious', 'Deadpool' and 'X Men', to name a few, have been game changers in recent months.

The unexpected success of movies from the West posed as a threat to not only small Bollywood films but also big-ticket Hindi releases. Long-awaited and hyped affairs such as Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Fan', Katrina Kaif's 'Fitoor' and 'Sarbjit' starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda were beaten by the might of Hollywood films on home turf.
