The lady, who is gearing up for a couple of films, one opposite Salman Khan, talks to CS about what makes this colour of the season hot:u00a0
Hue's hue
I love redu00a0-- it is eye-catching and connected to so many emotions like love, power and danger. But for me, it usually stands for love, which is why I wouldn't think twice before wearing this colour on a date or for a wedding.
Even on a day-to-day basis, I like wearing darker tones like red, maroon, blue and of course black, because they complement my skin colour and body type. Also, I'm not too fond of wearing jewellery. I'd rather let my outfit do the talking.
Red is now the new black. Unfortunately, many people refrain from sporting this colour because they have these preconceived notions that it is too loud. But I think that if you have the confidence, you can look smashing in it.
Red alert
Having said that, you have to ensure that you don't freak out on your make-up and accessories when you're wearing red. Simple, nude make-up can do the trick for you. Red has always been one of my favourite colours and I own a couple of items in the shade like a dress, shoes, bag and of course, lip colour.
But I never any two of them together, except maybe when I'm wearing a white shirt with jeans. Then I can don my red heels and also wear red lipstick and get away with it. I think red shoes are a must-have for every girlu00a0-- they look fab. There's nothing like teaming the iconic black dress with red footwear.
Colour code
It is very easy to go wrong with red. In fact, I've seen celebrities also messing up with the colour. I once saw someone dressed top to bottom in red and she looked pretty hideous. Since it's an attention-grabbing colour, you can't over-do your ensemble.
That would be a huge fashion faux pas. Kareena Kapoor is one celebrity who looks stunning in red. The shade is very flattering to her skin colour and body type. And who says that men can't wear red? I think Hrithik (Roshan), Salman (Khan) and Saif (Ali Khan) look spectacular in red.u00a0
