Barely a few weeks after the first edition of Chhorii released on Amazon Prime Video, its makers announced that the second instalment would go on floors soon. Surely leading actor Nushrratt Bharuccha’s winning act played a decisive role in that decision. Portraying the struggles of a pregnant woman in a new house where she encounters paranormal activities, Bharuccha managed to deliver a path-breaking performance that was applauded by critics and viewers.
Referring to her as one among the underrated female actors of Bollywood, director Vishal Furia says, “Films like Chhorii and Ajeeb Daastaans are testaments to her talent. The versatility that she possesses is rare, which was one of the reasons behind my decision to approach her for the supernatural thriller last year. I knew she would do justice to this role, and she did.”
