It has been a busy week for Tanya Maniktala with two offerings, `Chutzpah` and `Feels Like Ishq`, dropping online. The actor, who caught everyone’s attention last year with Mira Nair’s `A Suitable Boy`, is taking it one day at a time as she finds a foothold in showbiz. “Post `A Suitable Boy`, life has taken a turn for the better. I had the opportunity to work with incredible people on projects that I believe in. It has been a journey [that is helping] me grow as an actor and a human being.”
From the post-independence India that Nair’s creation was set in, Maniktala has dived into the modern Internet-obsessed world with `Chutzpah`. She believes the SonyLIV series is tailor-made for the current generation that has grown up on social media. “We are a product of the digital generation. In the wake of the pandemic and the lockdown, we have been glued to our screens more than ever. Our web series is a collection of stories that has the Internet as the hero and shows how social media has impacted our lives.” The actor plays Shikha, who tries to keep the spark alive in her long-distance relationship with her partner, essayed by Varun Sharma.
