Smita Patil was one of the finest actresses of Hindi cinema and stage. In a career that spanned just over a decade, the actress appeared in over 80 films in both Hindi and Marathi languages. Patil died at a very young age of 31 owing to childhood birth complications. Despite that, the mark left by the actress with her work continues to live among us.
Actor Mithun Chakraborty had once revealed how he was affected by her demise. During his appearance as a special guest on the reality show `Dance+6` in 2021, Mithun Chakraborty shared his love and admiration for the late Smita Patil. On the episode, Mithun challenged the contestants to dance on the songs chosen by him. Contestant Dhananjay from captain Shakti Mohan`s team performed on Mithun`s given favourite song `Ke Pag Ghungaroo Bandh Meera Nache` from `Namak Halaal`. He praised the contestant and said: "My mind was blown the way you took off! If a dance act starts well, everything about it looks good. It was a paisa vasool performance."
