Contrary to what most people believe, artists live a very disciplined life. I think discipline is a must to achieve any kind of success. I paint every single day, at least for an hour or two.

My studio is in a basti in Delhi and I also run an NGO from there to help educate and tutor poor children in that basti.

I also love cooking. I am not a formula cook; I invent things as I go. And I like to feed all the people I love, my children, grandchildren, friends. I love it so much that I make it a point to at least cook one meal a day. And then I love reading, fiction mostly in English language.

I like to read Allan Sealy, Anita Desai, and even my nephew Shashi Tharoor; I think he is a very good writer.
