The director who introduced actress Parveen Babi to Bollywood passed away on Wednesday at a Mumbai hospital after suffering from tuberculosis
Filmmaker B R Ishara, who directed films like 'Chetna' and 'Ek Nazar', passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 77 at a hospital here after suffering from tuberculosis. Ishara, who was believed to be in his seventies, was best known for writing and directing films in the 1970s including 'Hum Do Hamare Do', 'Zaroorat' and 'Milap'.u00a0
Among the newcomers the writer-director launched were Anil Dhawan (Chetna), Parveen Babi (Charitra), Reena Roy (Zaroorat) and Raj Kiran (Kaagaz Ki Nao). Trivia for cricket enthusiasts: He directed all-rounder Salim Durrani in Charitra.
