A new era of gangster drama with a twist of romance and comedy is upon us, courtesy of the creative director duo, Raj and DK, as they gear up for their latest venture, ‘Guns and Gulaabs’. The trailer for this Netflix series is a throwback to the 90s, instantly capturing the essence of the era. As soon as the trailer hit the screens, many internet users drew comparisons with Anurag Kashyap`s iconic `Gangs of Wasseypur` (GOW), pointing out the similarities between the two projects.
The vibrant cast of the upcoming series, including Dulquer Salmaan, Rajkummar Rao, Gulshan Devaiah, and TJ Bhanu, recently sat down for a candid chat with DNA India. Amidst the lively conversation, Rajkummar Rao, who has been part of Anurag Kashyap`s cult action film, addressed the claims surrounding the resemblance of `Guns and Gulaabs` to GOW. In a show of appreciation, Rajkummar praised Raj and DK for masterfully directing the project, stating, "They handled it (the subject) very well. They know how to create a mass entertainer exceptionally well. Having written `Stree` and belonging to small-town roots, they`re deeply familiar with this world."
