R Madhavan joined the likes of several Hollywood artistes in stating that India needs to give more credit to its writers than it does. "In Hollywood, the screenplay writers and dialogue writers are treated as superstars and are paid well. It [writing] is a flourishing career there. Unfortunately in Bollywood, it is not rewarding."
