Demand for old ditties continues as Phone Bhoot composer recreates Kaali teri gutt

Composer Roy’s speedy iteration of the popular Punjabi folk song, Kaali teri gutt evidently poses a challenge for Phone Bhoot actor Katrina Kaif. The fast-paced number has the actor, along with co-stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter, test her agility with a choreography that could put the finest dancers to test.
“The brief that was given to me was to create a pacey and danceable number,” says Roy, adding, “Owing to the popularity of this song, and the sentiments of the Punjabi [community], we decided to retain the original instrumentation. This song is usually associated with marriage. We used an upbeat vibe to cater to the colour of the film, as well as the audience’s taste.”
