Nawazuddin Siddiqui is on a new mission to make hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh greener. He is appealing to the people in his village to grow trees. Over the weekend, the actor started a tree plantation drive in Safipur Patti village in Budhana. He planted 35 saplings and has set a target of 5,000 saplings in the coming months. Siddiqui, who considers himself a farmer, is enjoying returning to his roots.
Siddiqui has parked himself in his hometown. He has no intention of returning to Mumbai anytime soon. The lockdown in the state that has led to the halting of all film shoots and dubbing sessions has made the actor spend time with his folks. Last year, too, Siddiqui spent a greater part of the lockdown in his village pursuing farming, which comes “naturally to him” as he comes from a family of farmers.
