'2 Guns' is a cliched action movie and will click only with people looking for ludicrous action with one or two fun sequences

Ah, another buddy cop movie featuring a black guy and a white dude, because the world hasn’t had enough of those films already. Even Hollywood is now aware of the genre having become a pungent pond, and now we’re introduced to a whole new genre – a buddy cop movie with an Oscar-winning black guy.
So does the new strategy work? In an internment way, it does. '2 Guns' is an achingly clichéd action movie with all of the elements that we have seen in every buddy cop movie to date. But it is also an entertainingly violent piece of escapist cinema, so if you’re looking for ludicrous action with one or two fun sequences this is the film for you. The film is based on a graphic novel series of the same name and teams up Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg as undercover cops of different departments with the singular mission of busting bad guys and scoring swag.
