Karan Johar's initiative to aid pandemic-hit Bollywood artistes

Taking into consideration the pandemic and its after-effects, Karan Johar`s initiative will address issues such as food, shelter and medicines for the people of the entertainment industry.

In a bid to help industry folk, Karan Johar on Friday launched the Yash Johar Foundation in his late filmmaker father’s memory. “My father understood that being in the movie business was hard. Taking into consideration the pandemic and its after-effects, the initiative will address issues such as food, shelter and medicines.”
Karan Johar is keen to work towards “improving the quality of life of people and their families in the Indian entertainment industry.” The foundation will also look into people’s financial well-being, health, and educational and vocational training. Announcing the news on his Instagram account, he wrote, "This has been a true labor of love created in memory of my incredible father and to carry forward his legacy. I am proud to launch the Yash Johar Foundation, which has been set up with the aim to improve the quality of life for people in the Indian entertainment industry."
