Karan Johar talks 'lineage benefit' while praising Shanaya Kapoor

Karan Johar took to his social media and spoke about privilege and lineage benefit after Shanaya Kapoor bagged the lead role in pan-India film led by superstar Mohanlal

Before making her Hindi film debut with ‘Bedhadak’, Shanaya Kapoor bagged her first pan-India film alongside Mohanlal. The actress will soon be making her Hindi film debut with Karan Johar’s production house. The pan-India film will be helmed by Nanda Kishore and also star Roshan Meka and Zahrah S Khan. After the announcement of Shanaya bagging the pan-India film, ‘Vrushabha’, Karan Johar took to his social media handle to praise her. In his note, he also addressed lineage benefit and privilege. He ended the note hinting at an announcement for Shanaya’s debut film ‘Bedhadak’.
“Some journeys are perceived as privileged some are also given the tag of lineage benefit … and all of that is true but in you Shanaya @shanayakapoor02 I have only seen a girl who dreamt of nothing but being a pure artist and facing the camera only when you had put in all that immense hard work and so much passion…. This is such a brilliant opportunity for you … so much to learn from the legendary @mohanlal sir.. who I admire and respect so much,” he wrote.
