He never portrayed glamour or largeness in his films yet the simplicity and realistic approach made him one of the most popular directors&nbsp;of his time.
On his death anniversary, we remember the magic of his films which have not faded with time.

'Anand' Hrishikesh Mukherjee fondly known as 'Hrishida' made what is considered his masterpiece 'Anand' in 1971. 'Abhiman' 'Abhiman' saw the Amithabh's and Jaya's greatest ever performance together. In this film Jaya and Amitabh portrayed a couple where the wife's career was stronger than that of the husband. 'Khubsoorat' 'Khubsoorat' starring Rekha and Rakesh Roshan was one of the film of its kind.
