sonu Nigam contributed in every way he could to aid COVID-19 relief measures despite being in Dubai for the most part of the lockdown

He not only organised free concerts during the first month of lockdown but also helped create Jayatu Jayatu Bharatam with ISRA (Indian singer's rights association) were 111 singers sang for the PM cares fund. Sonu was one of the curators for the project. He was also part of 'Sangeet Setu' a concert for PM cares Foundation where singers performed for 3 days and it was seen by 54 crore people all over.
Sonu's efforts were recognised by the jury committee of the prestigious 'Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar' award and he was awarded by Governor Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari at his residence, Raj Bhavan at a ceremony held on November 7, 2020.
