The Narcotics Control Bureau zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who is hell-bent on unearthing the Bollywood-drugs nexus, has a film connection at home. His wife is actor Kranti Redkar, who starred in Prakash Jha’s Ajay Devgn-starrer Gangaajal (2003). She has been part of several Marathi films, including Karaar (2017), No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aahey (2012) and wielded the directorial baton for Kaakan (2015). Redkar is best remembered for Jatra (2006), which featured the chartbuster Kombdi palali, tangdi dharun. The couple are parents to twin daughters, Zyda and Ziya. She also has a fashion line named after them. In 2013, Redkar found her name dragged into the Indian Premier League spot-fixing controversy involving S Sreesanth. It was a case of mistaken identity. Redkar, who is social media savvy, is also an influencer. Her husband is rattling showbiz while she is keen to make a mark in it.
