As he gears up for his Bollywood debut with musical drama, singer-composer Guru Randhawa says will be mindful of messaging in films

If his music videos are anything to go by, he is as comfortable in front of the camera as he is behind the mic. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Guru Randhawa — the man behind chartbusters Suit suit, Patola and Ban ja tu meri rani — is planning to expand his horizons to acting. The musician is set to make his Hindi film debut with a yet-untitled project backed by Endemol Shine India.
For his first movie, Randhawa has chosen a world that he has known intimately over the past nine years. “The film revolves around the journey of a young musician who comes from nothing and rises to the crests of fortune. Working on it was an instinctive decision,” he says. The makers are in the process of zeroing in on a director and the remaining cast before taking the project on floors in the coming months.
