Rego B, Bappi Lahiri’s 12-year-old grandson, has made his singing debut with ‘Bachcha Party,’ the video of which he features in. Rego B and composer Shameer Tandon speak to mid-day.com about how the track came to life.
How did this collaboration happen?
Shameer: We had set out to make a children`s album. Today, there is no music section with lyrics that are appropriate for children. We auditioned 50 odd children and came across this child Rego B and finalised him. I later realised he is Bappi Da’s grandson. His talent has spoken very well. It’s a party song with rap but no foul language. ‘Bachcha Party’ will resonate with children. The track panned out in less than 4 months. Saregama conceived the project and we developed song and produced the music video. There are a plethora of singles coming up.
