Kiran says she never watched Vanga's films, team 'Animal' digs up old article

After director Sandeep Reddy Vanga criticised Aamir Khan for Kiran Rao`s comments, the Laapataa Ladies filmmaker said she never watched his films or commented on it

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga`s `Animal` has become the most talked about film of 2023. Despite earning over Rs 700 crore at the box office, the film has received strong criticism from prominent individuals. Several film personalities also objected to the politics of the film. Recently, reacting to Kiran`s take on his films, Sandeep Reddy Vanga hit back at her by calling out her ex-husband Aamir Khan`s film `Dil`. Now Kiran Rao has said that she never commented on Vanga`s films as she has never watched them. Vanga is known for making films like `Arjun Reddy`, `Kabir Singh` and `Animal`.
"I have never commented on Mr Sandeep’s films because I have never seen them. I have often spoken on misogyny and the representation of women on screen. I have talked about it on various platforms at various times. But I have never taken the name of any film because it is not about the specific film. Why Mr Vanga has assumed that I was talking about his film you’ll have to ask him. I have never seen his film,” Rao told The Quint.
