Twinkle reveals daughter Nitara wanted fair skin after a relative's comment

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna got married on January 17, 2001, and have two kids, Aarav and Nitara. In her recent column, Khanna talked about how reading a book helped her daughter after she almost decided to give up swimming. Twinkle recounted an incident when a relative compared Nitara`s skin colour to that of her brother Aarav, which made her daughter consider giving up swimming.
Explaining how a book "acts as a navigational tool to guide us through this expedition called life," Twinkle Khanna shared, "There was a time when my little one (Nitara) wanted to discontinue her swimming lessons. A tan had become her nemesis. ‘I want to be the same color as bhaiya (brother).’ A chance remark by a foolish relative within her earshot had not gone unnoticed. ‘She is so cute but not as fair as her brother!’"
