Heeramandi: Here's how Aditi Rao Hydari’s ‘Gaja Gamini’ look was created

Actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who plays the role of Bibbojaan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s `Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar` not only impressed the audience with her acting prowess but also her ‘Gaja Gamini’ that has gone viral. Aditi is seen walking gracefully in the song ‘Saiyaan Hatto Jaao’ where she performs mujra for Fardeen Khan. The sequence shows her nailing the most intricate choreography all while wearing a gorgeous outfit.
Designers Rimple and Harpreet took to their Instagram account and explained how the ensemble was created. They wrote, “For her graceful and coy dance performance, Bibbojaan donned a lush red ghaghra crafted from a vintage suchi zari Kim-Khwab brocade textile, which is layered with a wide floral and avian motif border rendered using handcrafted marodi ka kaam and zardozi. It was paired with deep umber brown makhmal choli (blouse) which featured intricate floral (gleaned from a 19th century British gilet) zardozi embroidery that was crafted using dabka, naqshi, pearls, opals and other semi-precious stones.”
